| Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme |
The Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programme is a three to four year programme and includes the following:
- In the first year, you will attend a full-time course at Deeside College:
- You will work towards a technical certificate such as the BTEC National Certificate in Engineering - Mechanical (a level 3 qualification), and a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Performing Engineering Operations at level 2.
- In the second year, you will start a level 3 NVQ in an area such as Mechanical Manufacture, and you will continue with the BTEC National Certificate in Engineering, on a day release basis.
- During your third and fourth years, you will continue with your level 3 NVQ eg in Mechanical Manufacturing or Fabrication and Welding, and you may wish to progress to the HNC (Higher National Certificate) on a day release basis at Deeside College (this would be funded by DRB Group).
- You will develop a portfolio of evidence during your apprenticeship programme which will help you gain Key Skills qualifications in Application of Number, Communication Skills and Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Working with Others and Improving Own Learning & Performance, at level 2.
- Ongoing training and assessment in the workplace will help you achieve these qualifications and also a Key Skills-linked ‘Outward Bound’ programme where Personal and Communication Skills will be acquired.
- You will also have to complete an Employment Rights and Responsibilities workbook.
