DRB are continuing their commitment to young engineering apprentices

DRB team up with other companies in the industry to support engineering apprentices

We are committed to the development of young apprentices and want to secure a skilled workforce for engineering in thefuture. We feel it is not only important to support our own apprentices, but have teamed up with other companies in the industry over recent years to offer our expertise and resources to their engineering apprentices.

We have took part in an exchange scheme with companies such as Kellogg’s and UPM, which sees apprentices swapping between companies for a period of around 2 weeks. This gives them the opportunity to experience different types of engineering environments and gain a more diverse skill set.

More recently an apprentice from Mersey Rail spent a day in our design office, where he was given one to one support from one of our design engineers. As well as our expertise, the apprentice had access to our all of our design software and other engineering resources to help with his project.

DRB is keen to continue our involvement and support to young engineers and apprentices so that we can help secure a skilled workforce for engineering in the future.
